Eco Policy

Our Eco Policy and the Boater’s Code at Hodson Bay Watersports and Lough Ree Powerboat School

Here in Hodson Bay Watersports and Lough Ree Powerboat School,  we are acutely aware of the beautiful environment that we are privileged to enjoy, work  and play in all year around. We are proud to say that  Lough Ree Power Boat School,  probably done more at ground level to introduce safe and responsible boat driving practices than any other body on the Shannon.

Hodson Bay Watersports and Lough Ree Powerboat School actively promote a “No Wake” Policy, thus ensuring the safety of other water users and the protection of Wild Life and Nesting Birds.

Hodson Bay Watersports and Lough Ree Powerboat School aim to introduce as many people as possible to the delights of being able to drive  motor boats safely and responsibly on Ireland’s beautiful Coastal and Inland Waterways.

Essentially ,our self defined policy at Hodson Bay Watersports, with thanks to Lough Ree Powerboat School who developed it, is expressed as our Hodson Bay Watersports Boaters’ Code.

Nothing that we do on the water or on shore should ever compromise:

  • Anyone else’s enjoyment of the amenity whether they be on shore or on the water.
  • Any one else’s Safety.
  • The Amenity itself.

The Coastal and Inland Waterways are there to be enjoyed by people of all interests, beliefs and backgrounds. They are not there for the enjoyment of one group only !
